The following people are responsible for creating and maintaining the content published on the Omaha System Website. Please contact them with suggestions for the site.

Karen S. Martin, RN, MSN, FHIMSS, FAAN. Karen is a Health Care Consultant. She was employed at the Visiting Nurse Association of Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska from 1978-1993. During those years, she was the principal investigator of the Omaha System research projects and author of numerous, related publications. Since 1993, Karen has offered consultation services to prospective, new, and experienced multidisciplinary users in practice and academic settings nationally and globally. She is also a consultant to software developers. Karen conducts workshops, speaks, writes for publication, and is the author of the 2005 Omaha System book. Since 2001, she has been the chair of the Omaha System Board of Directors, and the lead co-chair of the Omaha System International Conferences where she has spoken at each Conference.

Karen A. Monsen, RN, PhD, FAMIA, FNAP, FAAN. Karen is Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She created the Omaha System Partnership within the University of Minnesota Center for Nursing Informatics. She has worked with diverse stakeholders to develop innovative Omaha System projects and resources for data management, program evaluation, and research. Karen has presented and published her cutting-edge research with the goals of improving practice quality and population health. She has been a member of the Omaha System Board of Directors since 2001. In 2013 and 2015, Karen organized International Conferences on Research Methods for Standardized Terminologies, and in 2017 and 2019, she hosted Omaha System Partnership meetings in conjunction with Omaha System International Conferences. In 2022, Karen hosted the online Omaha System Update Conference.

Jeanette M. Olsen, RN, PhD, CNE. Jeanette is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Nursing and Health Sciences where she has been on faculty since 2017. She teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing courses that focus on nursing care of adults and older adults, evidence-based practice, and the preparation of future nurse educators. She also advises doctoral students completing their capstone projects and serves on multiple department, university, and community committees. Jeanette’s first Omaha System article was published in 2017. Since then, she has authored articles and chapters about various aspects of Omaha System practice, education, research, and information management. Findings from her research using the Omaha System have been presented at the Omaha System and other international conferences.
